Does super come out of my salary?
It depends on your contract. If your salary is listed as "$80k plus super", the employer pays 11.5% on top of your wage. If it is an "$80k total remuneration package (super inclusive)," the super is calculated out of the $80k, meaning your base wage is actually lower.
Is super paid on overtime?
Generally, no. Superannuation is only required to be paid on "Ordinary Time Earnings" (OTE). Overtime hours are typically exempt from the Superannuation Guarantee calculation.
